INSPIRATION AT LAST!!!!!!!

Anyway, today, we will be exploring Singapore's usage of psychological barriers to cut down deaths at MRT stations.

You see, other countries use barriers so that people who accidentally trip over and fall will not fall onto the tracks in a train station.

In other words, those who wated to die could die, but everyone else won't accidentally fall off.

However, we Singaporeans do things a little differently.

Baik ah, Singapore....

With this humble little sign, those suicidal people would think twice about jumping off.

A psychological barrier.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, there's a higher chance of us tripping and falling onto the track and getting splattered.

In other words, those who wanted to die won't and the rest of us are screwed.

Forensic Science Lesson: 14/9/2007

This is what we did for part two of the lesson, we were experimenting the effects of height and angle of impact on blood drops...

...and uly decided to have a little fun with one of them...

Ah well, wish i could show you photos of how we did the thing on the mahjong paper, but forgot to take photos... Ah well, if no photo, words will do.

First, we needed to measure 10cm to drop the "blood". Easy, easy...

Then 50cm. Still easy.

Then 1m. Still boleh tahan (can handle).

Then two meters. That's where the fun starts...

First, uly measured 1m up to his side. And asked me to make a pencil marking on his uniform. o.O?

Okay, no problem there. Till he couldn't reach the 2m...

Time for plan B! The bench nearby.

I scrurried over to carry the bench over to where we were doing the experiment (the concourse). Then Uly stood on it and, yea, i marked 1m on him again. This time on his pants. lol...

And finally, he succeded on placing the 2m blood drop onto the paper.

The end.

For those not looking fer something a bit deep (or emo...), feel free not to read this.

Anyway, our old chem teacher, Mr Fadhir, came back to eat LUNCH, coz NUS canteen was too crowded. He started talking to us about life, and how it's not easy and very complicated. And how it's not easy, or nearly impossible, to keep every aspect of life balanced.

Take this for example.

You could spend your entire sec school life sitting in your room studying and not socializing, and although the odds of getting a better job and everything is higher, there will be a point in thime that you'll be wondering "what did i spend my sec. school life.

A bit drastic, hmmm, let's take another example.

A guy could get a steady gf at 13. His life would be happy initially, but his family won't approve, and his results may be affected. And he may not be happy later on in life.

What is happiness anyway?

Quote from Mr Fadhir: "Nothing you do is useless, so long as it creates an impact on you."

Bah, he was a good chem teacher. Eh, he's not dead...

Argh, so much to say, but I can't seem to put it in words.

Yea, harlo guys.

I've been thinking about what to blogwhile reading the Digital Life, when suddenly I thought, 'hey, why not pay tribute to VIDEO GAMES!' Not a bad idea? No? Oh well, I'll do it anyway.

The greatest Video Games of the past decade (in no given order, I think of these games on the spot)

Burnout: Revenge (Xbox 360)- I dare say the best in the Burnout series. Whamming your opponents cars, whamming other small cars, whamming the small cars into the trucks, whamming your car into a truck to create a disasterous roadblock etc etc, you get the picture. Bottom line, it has revolutionised racing games as we know it. REVENGE!
Raptor (Windows 95)- It's a freaking old game. You remember one of those arcade games where you use the joystick and control a lone plane and fight loads of enemies? This is one of them. And hell, it's a whole lot more. You actually get to buy weapons and unleash hell upon them. If you have never heard of this game, I doubt you'll get to play it. But if you have, damn I bet you'll agree with me.
THPS (Tony Hawk Pro Skater) series (PS1)- There are 8 so far, though I've only played till 4. This series is the one reason I decided to get the PS1, it's so freaking addictive, and it's fun too. Since I'll never be a skateboarder, this is the closest thing. Hehe, a boy can dream, can't he?
Deus Ex: Invisible War (Windows XP)- One of the greatest games of all time. You play Alex D. That's all that's fixed. The rest is your choice. Haven't played it? Go play now.
Final Fantasy (PS1, PS2, PC)- Final fantasy is an RPG, the only one that I need, it's the RPG for me! WHAT????? YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT YET??!! GO NOW!! NOW I SAY!!!!
Fifa & Winning Eleven soccer (PS1, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360)- Soccer is a perculiar thing. I can play it with a controller, but not with my feet. Anyways, Fifa is what got me started, Winning Eleven got me addicted, and Fifa continued my addiction (during hols, that is...)
HALO 1,2 (PC, Xbox)- Without Halo 3, these will do. If you don't know what this Halo is and you're a gamer, you must be the type playing HELLO KITTY ISLAND ADVENTURE.... DIE DIE MUST PLAY!!!
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360)- Better than X-Men Legends. Best game to play multiplayer on. You play SUPERHEROES!!! NOTHING is better than that.

Yea yea, your fave game may not be there. But this is my opinion, and what do I know? I took HCl, NaOH and Chemical Y and look what became of me? Haha, joking. But yes, this is my opinion, so don't get mad. :]

Just decided to post AGAIN (god, what is wrong with this dude? Good thing I don't know him. o.O). A few random points. I realised that one of the greatest joys in life is making others feel up (in other words, make them laugh...). Most people who talk to me these few days may be getting lots and lots of PUNishments.

Anyway, just one noteworthy thing to take note of. (well, you should take note of it, it's worth of it. it's noteworthy...) Was MSNing while studying fot bio, when suddenly this dude went online. Just to make sure I was studying the right thing, I went to ask him what to study. He says: Study the notes on E-Space (an online haven of every subject in NUS High). He also said that he was lazy to study today, so he wanted to do things the old fashioned way.

LAST MINUTE PRINT-SLIDES-AND-STUDY-THEM!!

So, being the nice guy I am, I decided to give him some of my advice. Or rather, "advice"...

"There are 2 types of people that can be found outside the exam hall. Those who are studying, and those who aren't. Those not studying are either very sure that they'll do well in the test............

Today was a bright and sunny day...

Today was my 2nd day of my new CCA. Joy. Seriously, it's a good thing.
